Family Sunday School

For families with young children:

This new approach to learning and exploring God’s Kingdom comes from a desire to

  • Equip families to carry out Christian practices at home
  • Combine Christian Education with Mission and Service
  • Incorporate Faith formation into the Worship Service
  • Facilitate multigenerational discussion and wonderment about Bible Stories and God’s message for us today.

For these reasons, we would like to invite ALL to join us in Creator Family Sunday School.  All ages are welcome!  Parents, Grandparents, and siblings will eat a light breakfast together, hear a Bible Story, wonder and discuss the story, and learn some new music—all together!  Service projects and crafts will also be a big part of our time together.

Although all are invited to Family Sunday School, Adult Education will also offer an hour of Christian Education for Adults.  Children may also attend without parents as our High School students will be “Big Buddies”.   Adults without children may also attend as there may be kiddos who could use an adult mentor.

Join us beginning Sunday, September 12  from 9:45am-10:45am!

Vacation Bible School

VBS will look a little different this summer.  Normally, Creator is bursting with excitement as over 200 children, youth, and adult staff fill the building for a week in the summer.  In consideration of the health and safety of all the families in our community during this unusual year, VBS will be presented to families via Facebook live, email, and YouTube.

During the week of July 26-30, 2021, our VBS leadership team will email and post Bible story skits, craft ideas, and upbeat songs to families to use in a home style Vacation Bible School.  Using Facebook live and Creator’s YouTube channel, Bible lessons will come to life through skits, music, and crafts.  Craft supplies for the entire week will be available to pick up anytime.  Just call the church to arrange a time.

Registration will open May 25.  Please sign up so we will know how many craft kits to make up.

To Parents of Young Children

Hi parents of young children,
I can imagine the challenges you are facing during this time of pandemic.  Most of you are very busy and have added the responsibilities of home schooling your children to your already full lives.  If there is anything we at Creator can do to help you out, please let us know.  Feel free to call, email, or text Terri Heckroth anytime (253-312-7219).  Know that you are always in our prayers.
Charlene and I have found some resources to help your children stay connected to this faith family and continue to learn and wonder about God’s great love through Jesus.  We will continue to email you links to videos, coloring sheets, activity sheets, and sing-a-long videos on a weekly basis (probably Wednesdays and Sundays).
Please remember that we are live streaming Worship on Sundays at 9:30am and Wednesdays at 7pm.  Pastor Amanda is live streaming devotions twice a day Monday through Friday at 9am and 8pm through Zoom.  The little ones can work on the activity sheets or coloring sheets while listening to Worship or Devotions.  Another idea is to give them some Play Dough to illustrate the message they are listening to.
I would suggest parents just print pages 14-24 in the Easter Story book, which are the non colored ones, that kids can color and then cut and paste the pictures into.  It also makes 2 books, so if you have 2 kids you only need to print the pages once.
Our Sunday School team already miss the kids and hope you are all healthy and happy.  If you’d like to share pictures of your family, we’d love to see them (and post with your permission).
Love and Prayers for health!
Terri, Charlene, Nick, and Cheri
