Youth and Family

The mission of Creator’s Youth and Family Ministry team is to bring God’s Children closer to their Heavenly Father. Through discussion of the word and sharing of fellowship we hope to deepen our children’s faith and develop a life-long relationship with Christ.

Our youth ministry deliberately guides young people into Christian discipleship by:

  • Involving youth and their families in a safe and Christian community,
  • Encouraging them to live spiritually rich, God-centered lives,
  • And preparing them to impact their world for Christ.

ALYVE Board Lock In

img043.jpgThe ALYVE Board is the group of area Lutheran High School students who meet to plan and lead a few synod wide Youth Events each year.  They are learning leadership skills and making friends from other Lutheran churches.

The ALYVE board will meet at Creator for an overnight planning and work session on February 20-21.  It is not too late to join this group.  If you are in 9th-12th Grade this year, and want to help us host the big retreat, please come to Creator on Friday, February 20 at 6:00pm.  We will work, play, eat, and sleep a little until Saturday, February 21 at about 2:00pm.

Creator adults, if you would like to donate food to this wonderful group of young leaders, please let Terri Heckroth know.  We could use lasagnas, garlic bread, salad, chips and cookies for snacks, breakfast foods, pop and juice.  There are 15-20 very grateful students on the board and one extremely grateful adult advisor (Terri).

Jr. High Mission Team Meeting

It's not too late to join this team of caring 7th and 8th graders!  If you would like to go out into the world to serve God's people in the Navajo Nation this summer, please come to the informational meeting Wednesday, January 28 from 6:00pm-7:00pm.  The final deadline to join the team is February 1, 2015 (only a few weeks away)!  Cost for the trip is $600 per student, and there are fundraisers to help you with that cost.  In fact, the meeting on January 28 will be filled with planning for the Valentine Dinner (a big fundraiser).  All participants MUST have a $200 deposit in by February 1.  Friends are welcome to join the team.

ELCA High School National Youth Gathering

Rise Up_0.png

~~The ELCA Youth Gathering for high school-age youth takes place every three years and is about faith formation, worship, study, fellowship, service and play.

It is an opportunity for youth to engage with peers from across the United States and the world who share a common commitment and faith in Christ. The next Gathering will be held July 15-19, 2015, in Detroit, Michigan.

High School Youth from Creator are planning on attending this gathering.  Are you in 9th-12th grade and interested in going to Detroit this summer?  If so, please attend the next planning meeting Wednesday, January 28 from 6:00pm-7:00pm.  Cost for the trip is $1,300 per person, and fundraising opportunities are available.  In fact, we will spending most of our time on January 28 planning the Valentine Dinner.
