Youth and Family

The mission of Creator’s Youth and Family Ministry team is to bring God’s Children closer to their Heavenly Father. Through discussion of the word and sharing of fellowship we hope to deepen our children’s faith and develop a life-long relationship with Christ.

Our youth ministry deliberately guides young people into Christian discipleship by:

  • Involving youth and their families in a safe and Christian community,
  • Encouraging them to live spiritually rich, God-centered lives,
  • And preparing them to impact their world for Christ.

Music Opportunities for Children and Youth

Creator Lutheran will be offering a Marimba Camp for youth July 3-7, 2017 from 1:00-4:00 PM.  This is for those who will be attending the 6-12 grades in the 2017-2018 school year.  Campers will be learning marimba techniques  as well as a couple of other art forms from Zimbabwe with leader Jeff Brahe - you do not need to know anything about music to participate!  You also do not need to be a member of Creator to attend - friends are welcome!  The camp costs only $60 for the week!

**We have 4 spots still open and the deadline has been extended to June 11th, 2017!  Please click on the registration form below, fill it out and mail or bring it to Creator before the deadline:  Creator Lutheran Church, 16702 S. Tapps Dr E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391.

High School Bible Study

The Senior High Bible Study group is very active.  One of the most recent fun events was exploring different Worship spaces.  This picture is of the group at the Hindu Festival of Holi.  Holi is a spring festival celebrated in India and Nepal also known as the Festival of Colors of Festival of Love.  This fun day of music, dancing, and throwing colorful powdered dye on each other signifies the victory of good over evil, the arrival of spring, and a chance to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships.  I have also heard that in India, it is a day when caste is set aside and all become equal.

9th through 12th graders:  Come join our fun-loving group!  We meet every Sunday evening from 6-8 at Terri Heckroth’s house.  We gather for dinner, fellowship, and faith discussion time.   For more information or a map call Terri.

Peer Ministry

Peer Ministry

Wednesday Evenings from September through May from 7:00pm-8:30pm

For students in 9th – 12th grades:  Confirmation doesn’t have to end.  You can be a helper!  We need Peer Ministers to help out with Confirmation small groups, go on retreats, and lead devotions at youth group outings.  If you are interested in becoming a Peer Minister, plan to attend classes on Wednesdays during Confirmation time (7pm-8:30pm).   If you attend these classes and are properly trained, you can be a helper on retreats.

Creator Confirmation

What is happening with our Confirmation kids?

Creator is the place to be!  Just ask any of our middle school age youth.  They meet for Confirmation class on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for fun and faith formation.  We have been studying some Old Testament lessons on Wednesdays and Martin Luther and the Reformation on Sundays.

The first Confirmation Retreat of the year was held at Warm Beach Christian Camp and Conference Center this month.  Our theme for the weekend was “Dealing with Bullying”, and Stephanie Kjelland, a longtime member of Creator, was our speaker.  She brought passion and empathy to a serious issue most of us face in school and in the workplace.  The class also began the long, challenging process of planning the Youth Led Worship for 2016.

Creator Offers MOPS Program

What is MOPS?? Mops stands for Mother of Preschoolers, a program led by moms for moms with children ages 0 to 5. These mothers all have the shared desire - to be the best mothers they can be!

Our theme for this year is “A Fierce Flourishing”. We will do this through Celebrating Lavishly, Embracing Rest, and Noticing Goodness - as women, mothers and wives.

Mothers will meet for breakfast; listen to engaging speakers; complete crafts; and share in small group time. While mothers are meeting, their children are divided into age appropriate classes where they participate in fun, educational activities through the MOPPETS program.

Mom, YOU impact the world! Motherhood is an exciting journey – but it’s not one we should do alone!

Look for the Creator MOPS Meeting Dates about August.
