Youth and Family

The mission of Creator’s Youth and Family Ministry team is to bring God’s Children closer to their Heavenly Father. Through discussion of the word and sharing of fellowship we hope to deepen our children’s faith and develop a life-long relationship with Christ.

Our youth ministry deliberately guides young people into Christian discipleship by:

  • Involving youth and their families in a safe and Christian community,
  • Encouraging them to live spiritually rich, God-centered lives,
  • And preparing them to impact their world for Christ.

LOCK IN

Friday, September 15 at 6:00pm-Saturday, September 16 at 10:00am

Spend the night in the church!  Bring your sleeping bag, pillow, and jammies for this fun night.  We’ll start out with a pizza dinner, then we’ll play games, watch movies, and find out what goes on in the church after dark.  Parents, we will be ready to go home at 10am on Saturday.

Family Sunday School

Creator Lutheran is trying something new on Sunday mornings!  This new approach to learning and exploring God’s Kingdom comes from a desire to

·        Equip families to carry out Christian practices at home

·        Combine Christian Education with Mission and Service

·        Incorporate Faith formation into the Worship Service

·        Facilitate multigenerational discussion and wonderment about Bible Stories and God’s message for us today.

For these reasons, we would like to invite ALL to join us in Creator Family Sunday School.  All ages are welcome!  Parents, Grandparents, and siblings will eat breakfast together, hear a Bible Story, wonder and discuss the story, and learn some new music—all together!  Service projects will also be a big part of our time together.

Hike and Picnic

September 17  12:15pm-5:00pm

God’s creation is Amazing!   Let’s appreciate the beauty of this world by spending time in the great outdoors.  Join us for a picnic and hike on Tiger Mountain.  Meet here at the church at 11am on Saturday, September 17th.  We’ll drive to the trail head of Swamp Trail on Tiger Mountain, just west of Snoqualmie Pass.  We will fuel our bodies with a picnic lunch and then hike.  Bring a light weight day pack that you are comfortable carrying, a sack lunch, water bottle, and dress in layers.  Friends are always welcome.  You will need to sign up on the bulletin board outside the youth room so we can arrange for enough drivers.  For students in Kindergarten and Preschool, we ask that parents accompany your little ones.  We should return to the church by about 5pm.  All youth need to have a medical release form filled out and returned before (or at the start of) the event.  For more information, call Terri Heckroth 253-312-7219.

Peer Ministry

Wednesday Evenings from September through May from 7:00pm-8:30pm

For students in 9th – 12th grades:  Confirmation doesn’t have to end.  You can be a helper!  We need Peer Ministers to help out with Confirmation small groups, go on retreats, and lead devotions at youth group outings.  If you are interested in becoming a Peer Minister, plan to attend classes on Wednesdays during Confirmation time (7pm-8:30pm).   If you attend these classes and are properly trained, you can be a helper on retreats.

Music for Children (Pre-K through 5th grade)

children_music.png

Music for preschoolers through 5th graders will happen on Sunday mornings as part of the family education hour (Sunday School).  Children in this age bracket are welcome to prepare special music outside of this education hour and meet with Dani 2-3 times before offering their music for worship - this can be singing or playing piano or another instrument they have been playing for a couple of years.  If children are interested in putting together a group song for worship, this is also a possibility.  Dani encourages children to share their God-given musical gifts when they are able.

Children are also welcome and encouraged to participate in the Christmas and Easter All Call Choirs (go to "All Call Choirs" page for details),

Please contact Dani to set up practices for special music or if you have any questions:  dani@creatorlutheran.net or 253-862-7700.

ALL CALL CHOIRS

All Call Choir is for all ages and ability levels.  The music is simple enough to be learned in 3 rehearsals for all who participate, even those who may not have any experience in music.  Don't want to sing?  We also have a hand chimes option!  Please let Dani know if you're interested at least once week prior to the first rehearsal (as she will need to create music parts).

All Call Christimas Choir Schedule 2017

Please commit to 2 regular rehearsals and the final rehearsal.  Music is TBD at this time and will be posted with practice links as soon as possible.

Regular Rehearsals (pick 2 to 4 of the following):
