High School

Bible Study

In order to stay connected to a supportive faith community during the teen years, Creator Lutheran high school students meet weekly (Sundays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM) for an informal Bible Study and dinner. Youth representing 4 local high schools engage in discussions about prominent issues youth currently face and how God’s Word can help them navigate through the exciting and challenging times of life.  Video lessons are interesting and inspirational, and discussions promote deeper friendships.

Peer Ministry

High School students who wish to continue the faith formation begun in Confirmation can also become Peer Ministers. Peer Ministers are provided training on listening, mentoring and leadership skills to successfully work with Creator Confirmation students.   Peer Ministers are also wonderful role models for younger children in their youth group activities. They provide experience and maturity in the presentation of the Youth Led Worship service, Vacation Bible School and other church-wide events. Peer Ministers also have opportunities to grow through their own weekly small group devotions and discussions.

Family Sunday School

Creator Lutheran is trying something new on Sunday mornings!  This new approach to learning and exploring God’s Kingdom comes from a desire to

·        Equip families to carry out Christian practices at home

·        Combine Christian Education with Mission and Service

·        Incorporate Faith formation into the Worship Service

·        Facilitate multigenerational discussion and wonderment about Bible Stories and God’s message for us today.

For these reasons, we would like to invite ALL to join us in Creator Family Sunday School.  All ages are welcome!  Parents, Grandparents, and siblings will eat breakfast together, hear a Bible Story, wonder and discuss the story, and learn some new music—all together!  Service projects will also be a big part of our time together.

Hike and Picnic

September 17  12:15pm-5:00pm

God’s creation is Amazing!   Let’s appreciate the beauty of this world by spending time in the great outdoors.  Join us for a picnic and hike on Tiger Mountain.  Meet here at the church at 11am on Saturday, September 17th.  We’ll drive to the trail head of Swamp Trail on Tiger Mountain, just west of Snoqualmie Pass.  We will fuel our bodies with a picnic lunch and then hike.  Bring a light weight day pack that you are comfortable carrying, a sack lunch, water bottle, and dress in layers.  Friends are always welcome.  You will need to sign up on the bulletin board outside the youth room so we can arrange for enough drivers.  For students in Kindergarten and Preschool, we ask that parents accompany your little ones.  We should return to the church by about 5pm.  All youth need to have a medical release form filled out and returned before (or at the start of) the event.  For more information, call Terri Heckroth 253-312-7219.

Peer Ministry

Wednesday Evenings from September through May from 7:00pm-8:30pm

For students in 9th – 12th grades:  Confirmation doesn’t have to end.  You can be a helper!  We need Peer Ministers to help out with Confirmation small groups, go on retreats, and lead devotions at youth group outings.  If you are interested in becoming a Peer Minister, plan to attend classes on Wednesdays during Confirmation time (7pm-8:30pm).   If you attend these classes and are properly trained, you can be a helper on retreats.

This choir is for high school youth (grades 9-12) through adults and rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7:00-8:3o PM.   Choir members strengthen their relationship with each other each week through devotions and prayer and song.  The choir sings 2-3 times a month at both services (8:30 and 11), allowing 2-3 Sundays off a month to focus on worship and prepare music from many different genres (gospel, jazz, classical, contemporary and more).  Please click on the link to view the choir schedule for the fall (coming soon!).

Sr. High 30 Hour Famine

~~What is World Vision’s
30 Hour Famine?

The 30 Hour Famine is an international movement to fight hunger as well as bring group members closer to Christ and one another, while forever changing our perspective of those in need.

On February 27 & 28, 2015 Creator members will take on the
challenge of going without food for 30 hours.  During the 30 hours, we will not only experience hunger firsthand,
but by raising money through friends and family who sponsor us,
we will be supporting both emergency relief and
long-term development projects that help break the cycle of
hunger and poverty in our world.

Saturday, February 21 at 6:00pm

Sit back and relax.  Let the youth of Creator serve you a delicious Italian dinner and entertain you with amazing musical talent.

Use this dinner as a romantic night out for two, or enjoy a family dinner with the whole crew, or even come alone  and connect with old or new friends.
Everyone is invited!  In fact, encourage all your friends, relatives, and neighbors to come too.

This is a fundraiser for the Jr. High Mission Trip to the Navajo Nation and the Sr. High National Youth Gathering in Detroit.  Donations will be gratefully accepted.

ALYVE Board Lock In

img043.jpgThe ALYVE Board is the group of area Lutheran High School students who meet to plan and lead a few synod wide Youth Events each year.  They are learning leadership skills and making friends from other Lutheran churches.

The ALYVE board will meet at Creator for an overnight planning and work session on February 20-21.  It is not too late to join this group.  If you are in 9th-12th Grade this year, and want to help us host the big retreat, please come to Creator on Friday, February 20 at 6:00pm.  We will work, play, eat, and sleep a little until Saturday, February 21 at about 2:00pm.

Creator adults, if you would like to donate food to this wonderful group of young leaders, please let Terri Heckroth know.  We could use lasagnas, garlic bread, salad, chips and cookies for snacks, breakfast foods, pop and juice.  There are 15-20 very grateful students on the board and one extremely grateful adult advisor (Terri).
